Alaska Medical Missions Partner Celebration!
May 6, 2018, at 5 pm at Villa Nova
$75.00 per person: includes heavy appetizer dinner (no-host bar)
Join us as Dr. Anne Alaniz and Dr. Nancy Kragt share stories of their work in a medical clinic and orphanage that Dr. Alaniz started in Malawi. Alaska Medical Missions is grateful to have sent medical supplies to serve WITH them, and we’re eager for you to join us for an informative evening filled with joy as we listen to their experiences.
Dr. Anne Alaniz, DO
, grew up in rural Malawi, a country in southeast Africa, where disease was widespread, and her elementary school desk was stacked bricks coated with hardened mud.
An act of kindness set Dr. Alaniz on a remarkable path: to UNT Health Science Center, where she earned a medical degree; to Houston Methodist Hospital where she is a gynecological oncologist; and back to Malawi, where she founded Pothawira, a women and children’s health care facility, orphanage and school that gives hope to women and children in her home country.
Dr. Nancy Kragt
is an emergency medicine doctor in Anchorage, Alaska and is affiliated with Alaska Regional Hospital. She met Dr. Alaniz as a fellow student at Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine where she received her medical degree. Dr. Kragt is the Past-President of the Alaska Osteopathic Medical Association, and is one of 11 doctors at Alaska Regional Hospital who specialize in Emergency Medicine.
