Burkina Faso School-Based Health Centers Project
Alaska Medical Missions is grateful to partner WITH an Anchorage church, Muldoon Community Assembly, and the Assemblies of God Church in Zone 1 of Ougadougou, Burkina Faso to help establish health centers connected with three elementary schools operated by the Zone 1 church. Each of these three schools – Muldoon Evangelique, Yamtenga and Doudou – educates approximately 300 students.
School enrollment rates in Burkina Faso are low and, for those children fortunate enough to attend school, there is often a problem with poor performance attributable to poverty and lack of good health. Establishing medical centers connected with these three schools will mean that nearly 1000 students plus their families will have access to much needed healthcare and healthier lives!
